Virtualization for SMB

In an interview at ISS in Las Vegas, we talked with VMware's Rupert Shultes about the multiple facets of virtualization. His passion for the subject is surpassed only by the depth of his knowledge.

“In the US, small to medium businesses have an average of 3 to 10 servers,” explains Rupert.  “Virtualization can help these businesses simplify their IT needs and get them things that you usually only see at the enterprise level and in big IT departments."

"Disaster recovery is a great example. The entire reliability or 100% up time is not something small businesses can afford because it would usually require them to buy very costly specialized solution like a fault tolerant server."
